Beer Geek Nation Epic Bottle Share (Video 3 of 3)

Here it is: my very last video from San Diego. It’s been fun but good times never last for long.

This video was shot on my last night in San Diego, and is much more informal than the other bottle share videos. Basically we were all goofing off and drinking some amazing beer. Ryan discovers one of malt liquordom’s greatest characters, and Jamison and Chris argue about Black Tuesday and World Wide Stout.

0:00 to 1:08 Fantome La Dalmatienne
1:08 to 3:22 3 Fonteinen Schaerbeekse Kriek
3:22 to 6:13 Debating Black Tuesday, Avery Mephistopheles, and Dogfish Head World Wide Stout
6:13 to 6:38 My last beer in San Diego
6:38 to 8:25 The dead soldiers of the epic bottle share

Thanks as always to Ryan for putting up with us for a week, to all the breweries that took care of us, and to the city of San Diego for not arresting our drunk asses.

And of course, thanks to all the viewers who have watched, rated, subscribed, and commented on all these videos!

Beyond the Pour Goes to San Diego Beer Week (Day 5)

This video is WAY shorter than the others, I know. I was running out of video space on the camera and didn’t want to have to buy a memory card. Also, we definitely slowed down quite a bit on the last couple of days and there just wasn’t much to show.

This was the day we did the Stone Brewery Tour, which you’ve probably already seen on the other guys’ channels. I didn’t film anything on the tour, but I’m in the other videos.

Here all we do is stop by Pizza Port Carlsbad for a couple of pints and some pizza. I’d definitely go back the next time I’m in San Diego.

I have on last video after this one, a very informal bottle share video.

Beyond the Pour Goes to San Diego Beer Week Day 4

The big events were over, and so we decided to spend most of the last two days hitting the tasting rooms of local breweries and generally taking it easy. We also did quite a bit of bottle sharing at the end of the night, but all that will go in separate videos.

In this video we curse the rain, share an inside joke with Chad, try Victory at Sea fresh from the teat at Ballast Point, taste Lamb Chili made with Alesmith Old Numbskull, and check out one of the brewery cats at Lost Abbey. All in all a full day of fun.

0:00 to 1:11 Rain, rain, go away!
1:11 to 3:22 Ballast Point
3:22 to 7:05 Alesmith
7:05 to 9:49 Port Brewing/Lost Abbey
9:49 to 11:06 A Brief Coda at Iron Fist

Beyond the Pour Goes to San Diego Beer Week Day 3

This was my third day in San Diego, Saturday November 5. This was the day of the big brewer’s festival at which I didn’t shoot any video as I was feeling under the weather due to a combination of jet lag and hangover. The other guys shot plenty of video in my stead, I promise.

This video starts with me doing about the most touristy thing I did all week, then moves back to Ryan’s house for a discussion of the growler of Double Dry Hopped Ruination he had bought at Stone. Finally we stop by Churchill’s, a local English pub with fantastic San Diego beer, for Green Flash night and some food. We also split a bottle of Churchill’s Finest Hour between the four of us.

0:00 to 0:47 The Beach!
0:47 to 5:43 Double Dry-Hopped Ruination Growler
5:43 to 12:04 Beers at Churchills, merriment!
12:04 to 17:04 Churchill’s Finest Hour Imperial Stout

Beyond the Pour Goes to San Diego Beer Week Day 2

So, yeah. I know this is long. I thought about splitting it into two pieces, but if I tried to keep all my videos to under ten minutes or so, I’d be uploading video for the rest of the month.

In this video the rest of the BGN crew and I show up at Stone at a few minutes before 9:00 AM on Friday, November 5, for Stone Rare Beer Breakfast. Much amazing beer and merriment was had by all.
